“I say my ex has locked me in her bedroom and left me here and you think it’s a good idea to come over? xD” he replied. “Instead of possibly getting in trouble with her yourself, how about I just go over there, okay? So, you address?” He stood up, trying to judge how hungry he was. He still had a few blood bags Sapphire had stolen for him, but he was rationing them. Desperate times called for desperate measures, though, so he grabbed one and drank it as he waited for a reply.
“5209 Bree Lane Apt#255. See you soon. The door is open, so let yourself in.”
“Got it,” he quickly replied, thinking he knew where that was. As soon as he was off the phone, he went to work with the window. The door was locked with gold, which would repel and possibly burn him, so he knew that wouldn’t work. The window though… Taking a few blankets he got off the bed, he punched the window out, knowing he’d get in trouble later for that but not really caring. Clambering out the window, he ran to his truck and drove over to the address he had been given.
He reached his destination about fifteen minutes later, and knocked on the door. He knew he looked a little different, but hoped it wasn’t too noticeable. He had already been pale, so that shouldn’t be obvious. His eyes were a little brighter, but that wasn’t a big deal, he could say he got colored contacts or something if she asked. That was when he stopped to wonder if his teeth were stained red. As he waited, he started wiping at his teeth to try to remove any trace of blood.
She sighs when she opens the door, “Don’t you listen? I said just come in.” Then her demeanor changes and she smiles, “Come in. It’s seriously great to see you.” Even though he looked different, she blew it off. She didn’t want to say something and hurt his feelings or anything.
“Oh, sorry,” he said, trying to remember the wording of the text. More important, however, was that he stayed calm. He could smell her blood, and it definitely pulled at him, but it was something he seemed to be able to ignore. “Thanks, it’s nice to see you too,” he responded, giving her a smile. Fear spiked through him again as he hoped that his teeth looked normal. He was pretty sure his fangs weren’t out. They didn’t feel like they were. What would Lauren say if she found out?
She stared at him for a moment. He was acting strange and it wasn’t going to pass over her head. She stepped closer and tiled her head to the side, poking his forehead, “What’s wrong anyways? Why the hell did your ex lock you up? She got the hots for you again or something? Do I need to f*ck her up?”
